Worth it

Figs, honey and cool mascarpone in a buttery shell — the dessert to bring out when the candles are low.

Ingredients

What you'll gather

  • 1 sweet shortcrust pastry case, blind-baked
  • 250 g mascarpone, cold
  • 150 g Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp raw honey, plus more to finish
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 8–10 ripe figs, halved
  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachios
  • A pinch of sea salt

Method

A gentle path

  1. 1

Whip the mascarpone with the yogurt, honey, vanilla and salt until smooth and holding soft peaks.

  2. 2

Spoon into the cooled tart shell and smooth the top with the back of a spoon.

  3. 3

Arrange the fig halves cut-side up, pressing them in gently.

  4. 4

Warm a little honey and brush it over the figs so they shine.

  5. 5

Scatter the pistachios and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

A little note

Out of figs? Roasted plums or apricots are just as lovely.
